I KNEED Thee Every Hour!! (Get it?)

Image
Hello all my beautiful friends and family!!      I just want to start off by saying thank you to everyone who reached out after last week's email about my knee!! Thank you for your encouragement and prayers!! Y'all are awesome!! I guess while I'm on this subject I'll give you a little update on my knee. I went to the doctor on Wednesday, and he told me that I strained my meniscus. He gave me a set of physical therapy exercises to do for the next 5 weeks, and if my knee is still in pain after that, I'm probably going to have to get an MRI so we can figure out what the real problem is. So it's a little relief, but I'm not totally out of the woods yet. My knee hasn't been in as much pain as before, but it still has its ups and downs. Hopefully it'll be all good in 5 weeks!!      This week felt like the longest week ever. Seriously it lasted like 5 years. But that's okay! Even though this week was a little more difficult, the Lord still put a lot of ...

Keepin' It Real

Image
Hola mis amigos!! Les extraño muchísimo!      Okay okay, so I'm going to keep it super real in this email today. Normally I give you guys the highlights, but today I'm going to talk about the parts of missionary life that missionaries don't talk about. So buckle down.      I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY WITH MY WHOLE HEART!! But some days are tougher than others. This past week for me physically and emotionally was super difficult. For those of you who may not know, I struggled a lot with various knee issues in high school, and had them under control in college and before my mission. But a few weeks ago after I played soccer with my district, my knee began to be in a lot of pain. I thought my old injury was just flaring up and I started doing physical therapy exercises I knew to help strengthen the muscles in my knee. But the workouts have not been helping and have only made the pain worse... and in an entirely new spot in my knee. It's been painful to walk and ...

What's Mario's Favorite Kind Of Fabric? Denim, Denim, Denim

YOU GUYS!!! EXCITING NEWS!!! MY FRIEND MARIO IS ON DATE TO BE BAPTIZED!!!     This week we celebrated not one, but TWO birthdays! It was Elder Alonso's birthday last Tuesday, and last Wednesday was Hermana Worthington's birthday!! We played hard and worked even harder!! (Just because it's your birthday doesn't mean missionary work stops haha). But it was super fun!!      Okay, let me tell you a few stories since I haven't really been good about those lately. This last Thursday we went to go see our friend José. Now José is a real interestin feller and he is just always outside of his house. I'm convinced of it. Right there in his front yard. But he also has a TON of dogs, I'm pretty sure most of them are strays. But there's one dog that is always in his front yard with him. Anyway, we went to visit José, and we go at the same time every week because José doesn't have a phone, so we have no way to contact him other than going to his house.... and he...

And The Greatest Prophet Of All Was.. José!!!

Image
Hola a todos!!!      Cómo están?? How has life been?      This week was great!! We had a lot of fantastic lessons! We had a fantastic lesson on the Restoration with our friend Randal! If you want to know more details of that one, let me know and I'll email more about it next week. (Sorry I don't have that much time this week LOL).      But I'll tell you about a kinda embarrassing moment I had during a lesson this week. I accidentally almost told someone during a lesson this week that Joseph Smith was the greatest Prophet of all time instead of Jesus Christ. My Spanish brain just kinda took over and the wrong name came out. But I corrected it super quick, so it was all good, he didn't even notice.      I've been on a big letter writing kick lately, so if you want a letter from me, just send me your address, and I'll send you one.      I love you all!! Thank you for your continued support and encouragement!  ...

Goin' Off The Rails On A Crazy Train

Image
hey, howdy, hello everyoneeeee!!!      How is it going? Wasssss poppin'? I just wanna say I love you all, and I hope your week was super good. Anyway, my week was a little nuts, but that's okay, it's definitely one I won't forget haha.      So, let me give you some background to this story before you all give me crap okay.... so for about 6 days we didn't have dish soap, because we were trying to be obedient and wait until p-day to buy dish soap... so we didn't wash all the dishes in our sink... for six days.... It's really embarrassing, I know. And so, obviously, we ended up having some science experiments growing throughout those dishes.... which made Hermana Worthington freak out. And I mean REALLY freak out. She wanted to just throw away all of our dishes and buy new ones, which I told her was a really bad idea and that we could just clean it and get new cleaning supplies. Which is what we ended up doing after we bought dish soap and bleach. And we thor...

Seizures, Sarabella, And Sonora Burritos

Image
Haha, okay okay, so before any of you freak out, I AM OKAY. I didn't have a seizure, all is well. I promise.      But this week was LOCO. So buckle up my friends, this is going to be fun.      This past week, I went on an exchange with Sister Warden. (For those of you who may not know what that is, once a transfer we change companions for part of a day just to learn more about how to improve doing missionary work). But for this exchange I went to her area... now I had heard some crazy things about this area, but I didn't really believe it could be THAT crazy. Boy was I wrong. We went to visit someone who told the Sisters that they could come back the next week. Well that week came and it just so happened to be while I was there. Anyway, we pull up to this lady's house, and start walking into the driveway and all of the sudden these two ladies come running out of the house towards the RV that was parked in the driveway. We were so confused, and all the sudde...

Livin' The Dream

Image
Howdy everyone!!  This past week has been so amazing!! Let me tell ya about it :)))      This week I've learned a lot about the different attributes of Jesus Christ: Faith, Hope, Charity & Love, Virtue, Knowledge, Patience, Humility, Diligence, and Obedience. I started a Book of Mormon read with Hermana Worthington, and I'm trying to go through as we read and mark all of the verses that relate to the attributes of Christ. It has taught me so much, and I would invite you all to do the same.     We taught Walter again this past week (and a lot of other friends too, Walter's lessons are always just so memorable). Walter came to stake conference this weekend, WHICH WAS A MIRACLE, because he always works on Sunday's. My companion was actually prompted to call and invite him to that stake conference, and we are so glad we did. When we called him, he said he was so glad we called because he was in a really dark spot at that moment and was looking for some ligh...
